RHUCs 200th Anniversary
"Roll out those, lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer....."
While you are enjoying the more relaxed and refreshing days of summer, jot down your memories of your time at RHUC. Several of us are making plans to celebrate our church congregation's 200th anniversary in 2010 and one project we are working on is a book of people's memories, and we want to include as many memories as you give to us. To get you thinking and writing, here are some ideas we have thought of::
What brought you to RHUC, and has kept you coming?
Any events you fondly remember.
What are the fun events you participated in?
What part of the work and worship of RHUC do you have a story to tell about?
A personal happy or sad event you shared with RHUC....
The possibilities are endless. You can write them out and give them to us/church office, or email them to "donnasmith44@rogers.com, or tape record them (JoAnne Fotheringham will transcribe into written form). JoAnne has a tape recorder that you are welcome to borrow, so contact her at "fotheringham@rogers.com or "905-884-0645 Best way is to start writing/talking and let those memories flow.
Lunch and Learn - Sunday, September 20
Would you be prepared to take care of you and your family for a minimum of 72 hours if a disaster should happen? We don’t think of fire, floods, earthquakes etc., as much of a threat to us. And what of the current fear of a major pandemic in the future? What if any of these should occur? How would you cope?
Having a plan is place for such emergencies would prove most helpful, and in fact, necessary.
With this in mind, the Health Cabinet is organizing a Lunch and Learn to take place after church on Sunday, September 20th in the Garden room . The topic is “EMERGCENY PLANNING’ and will also include how to cope in a possible H1N1 pandemic. Join us! You will consider it time very well spent!
